Description
Stingless bee or Trigona is a tropical species of bees found in the Indo-malay region. It is predominantly found around the western ghats region along Kerala, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. They are very small in size compared to their counterparts and hence give them the advantage of foraging on really small floras. The honey produced by these bees are a rich source of antioxidant flavonoids. The worker bees collect nectar from medicinally important herbal plants and flowers. They are used extensively in Ayurveda. The honey produced is extremely rare as the quantity produced is relatively small at 600-700 gms per year. Available in assorted royal edition and bulk orders.
