Description
The rituals of the Sundarban honey hunters is a fascinating one. They start the journey by paying tributes to the tiger goddess before heading to the largest mangrove forests in the world without knowing if they would ever return. Mauli tribes wear face masks backwards believing the tigers only attack from the back. The first harvested honey is always offered to the goddess of the jungle. Their livelihood is much safer today with the government’s involvement and collaboration. It is unique from other honey as it is less vicious with strong aroma and flavour of mangrove flora and rich taste. Available in assorted royal edition and bulk orders.
