THE INITIATIVE

The very name “Sattvva” (Sanskrit: सत्त्व ) is a proud reminder of its Indian roots. It means purity, goodness and wellness. In India, nectar is the divine food of the gods. Honey has even found its way into the Rig Veda, the most important of the four Vedas of Hindu tradition dating back to around 1500 BC, testifying the use of honey by ancient Indians. In Ayurveda, honey is the most valued natural substance used in treating various diseases.

Our goal is to increase the population of bees in the world because they contribute to 90% of the pollination process. A world without bees is unimaginable as the planet earth would not survive without them. The only way forward is to introduce people to apiculture or beekeeping by making it lucrative. “Sattvva Initiatives” focuses on educating and training beekeepers to not just collect honey but also collect pollen, propolis, venom, beeswax, royal jelly and bee bread ethically, which helps in bettering their livelihood. We also train beekeepers to identify and collect honey from the super chambers/ honey chambers and not from the brood chambers where the bees live and the eggs or pupa are saved. Sattvva Initiatives is NMR (Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Test) certified 100% organic Indian bee products cultivated by the beekeeping tribes in India.

Bees have a very sensitive respiratory patch which can cause death when bees come in close contact with pesticide-laden crops. Sattvva beekeeping farms are in the environmentally safe zone closer to the forest range to safeguard the population of the bees as well as to maintain the quality of the bee products.

We also use “Blockchain Technology” to trace the origins of the honey we produce to the concerned apiary anywhere in India

What they are saying

I wanted to try it because it is NMR certified, and I knew about it. Also, when tasted, the quality became evident in their rich and natural flavour. I am in love with bees now!

The bottles..! They were so clean and classy. The wooden cork works practically well in handling. Very impressed with the presentation…

I was very apprehensive about how the block-chaining of honey works. However, I got a detailed walkthrough of the process in a very much decentralized manner. I appreciate their empathy in making me understand.

Great experience with the team. From procurement style to the health benefits, they answer everything you may want to know. It was an eye-opener discussion for me, especially when they said why they chose glass bottles over plastics/PETs.

Never knew so many flavours of honey actually existed until I checked their product catalog. Wondering how these tiny bees have worked so hard in filling up these beautiful bottles with natural nectars from different regions.
